Los Angeles Kings News & Updates

Quinton Byfield has committed to a five-year contract extension valued at $31.25 million with the Los Angeles Kings. The 21-year-old forward has demonstrated remarkable progress, recording 20 goals and 35 assists in the past season, becoming the first King to reach a 20-goal season under the age of 22 since Anze Kopitar in the 2007-2008 season.

Byfield has taken on an essential role, excelling particularly on special teams, with 14 power-play points and securing four game-winning goals last season. Despite making it to the playoffs for the third consecutive year, the Kings were ousted by Edmonton in the first round.

As a restricted free agent, Byfield is among five Kings forwards and one of eight players on the team set to receive an average annual salary exceeding $5 million in the upcoming season.
