New York Rangers News & Updates

During Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Florida Panthers, the New York Rangers saw the return of Blake Wheeler, who had been out since February due to a leg injury.

Wheeler joined the Rangers in July after a 12-year stint with Winnipeg. Before his injury, he had accumulated nine goals and 21 points over 54 games. Despite the severity of his leg injury, he remained hopeful about making a comeback for the series against Florida.

Although Wheeler was cleared by medical staff, Rangers coach Peter Laviolette stressed that conditioning and game readiness were crucial considerations before his return to play. The team's depth was already challenged when Jimmy Vesey sustained an upper-body injury in Game 2.

Currently, the Rangers lead the series 2-1 against the Panthers, with Game 5 set to take place on Friday in New York.
