Artemi Panarin led the New York Rangers to a triumphant 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers with two goals in the regular play and the winning shot in the shootout, while Igor Shesterkin contributed with 27 saves on Saturday evening.
Despite Carter Verhaeghe giving the Panthers a lead with his 31st goal, Panarin's efforts saw him tying the game with his second goal of the evening and his 43rd for the season, leading his team in goals. Matthew Tkachuk and Eetu Luostarinen contributed goals for the Panthers, marking their fourth consecutive loss. The Rangers saw Adam Fox scoring, and Vincent Trocheck added three assists to their tally.
In the shootout face-off, Panarin's shot overcame Panthers' goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, and Mika Zibanejad also netted a goal for the Rangers. Sam Reinhart responded with a goal for Florida. The win was sealed for the Rangers when Shesterkin blocked a shot from ex-Ranger Vladimir Tarasenko.
