The New York Rangers have agreed on a two-year, $4.4 million contract extension with defenseman Braden Schneider.
Ryan Lindgren is the only starting defenseman yet to sign, as he has filed for arbitration.
This signing occurs after the Rangers recently added veteran Chad Ruhwedel to enhance their defensive depth.
Last season, Schneider set personal bests in games played, assists, and points, while matching his highest number of goals. He was the second-leading Rangers defenseman in both hits and blocked shots.
Throughout his career, Schneider has accumulated 12 goals, 36 assists, and a plus-13 rating over 206 NHL games. The Rangers picked him in the first round of the 2020 NHL draft.
