Rangers Secure Presidents' Trophy with Shutout Victory Against Senators, Panarin Reaches 120 Points

Motivated by their previous playoff elimination, the New York Rangers broke a team record by securing 114 points and clinching the Presidents' Trophy.

In a commanding 4-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators, Artemi Panarin contributed with a goal and an assist, Igor Shesterkin achieved his fourth season shutout, and the trio of Jack Roslovic, Adam Fox, and Alexis Lafreniere each scored, showcasing the team's depth.

This win propelled the Rangers to a leading 55 victories, surpassing previous team records for both points and wins in a season.

Coach Peter Laviolette commended his squad for their fighting spirit and self-assurance, highlighting the strategic advantage of playing on home ice in the playoffs.

Roslovic opened the scoring early in the match, followed by a short-handed goal from Fox. Panarin broadened the gap in the final period before Lafreniere capped the scoring with only seven minutes left on the clock.

With 120 points, Panarin landed the second-highest season point total in Rangers history, attributed to the collective efforts of his teammates.

Shesterkin capped off a strong season by winning his 36th game, having been victorious in seven of his last nine starts.

Despite a valiant attempt against the Rangers, the Senators were unable to break their streak of missing playoffs, marking their seventh year of absence.
