Raymond's Go-Ahead Goal Secures Red Wings' 4-2 Victory Against Islanders

Lucas Raymond scored a decisive goal in the third period, securing a 4-2 win for the Detroit Red Wings against the New York Islanders on Monday night.

Additional goals for Detroit came from Dylan Larkin and Moritz Seider, with Alex Lyon making 28 saves. Simon Edvinsson netted a goal into an empty net.

Anders Lee and Kyle Palmieri scored for the New York team, which was leading 2-1 after the first two periods. Semyon Varlamov stopped 17 shots.

Midway through the third period, Larkin equalized the score at 2-2, and Raymond scored soon after to push the Red Wings ahead.

Seider ended a 16-game stretch without a goal in the second period.

The Islanders failed to maintain their third-period lead, marking the fourth time in five games this has happened.

In the closing minute, Christian Fischer blocked a shot from Noah Dobson, ensuring the Red Wings' victory.

Detroit's power-play attempts were unsuccessful, going 0-for-3 against the Islanders’ penalty defense.

The Red Wings are set to host Calgary on Wednesday, while the Islanders will face Boston.
