New York Islanders News & Updates

David Rittich spearheaded a commanding 3-0 victory for the Los Angeles Kings against the New York Islanders, putting an end to the latter's six-game victory run.

With 26 stops, Rittich celebrated his sixth career shutout, showcasing his goalkeeping prowess. Adrian Kempe was pivotal to the win as well, netting his 20th goal of the season and hitting the 20-goal mark for the third year in a row.

The Islanders put up a valiant fight, especially during power plays, but found themselves thwarted by the Kings' solid defense, failing to score on five occasions.

Kempe, returning from injury, broke the deadlock in the second period with the first goal. Phillip Danault and Trevor Moore increased the lead for the Kings, with Moore clinching an empty-net goal towards the end.

Next, the Islanders are set to face off against Buffalo, while the Kings will take on the Blues in St. Louis.
