Rookie Celebrini Leads Sharks to Impressive 7-2 Win Against Kings

Rookie Macklin Celebrini contributed three points, scoring two goals and providing one assist, while Will Smith added two assists as the San Jose Sharks triumphed over the Los Angeles Kings with a score of 7-2 on Monday night.

Celebrini's goals initiated a surge in the early part of the third period, with Timothy Liljegren and Celebrini breaking the tie at 2-2 and then extending the lead with a goal during a power play.

The scorers for Los Angeles were Anze Kopitar and Brandt Clarke. In goal, Yaroslav Askarov made 22 saves for San Jose, while David Rittich achieved 14 saves for the Kings.

Nico Sturm opened the scoring with a breakaway goal in the first period, with assists from Mario Ferraro and Askarov.

Coming off recent losses, the Sharks secured an impressive win, driven by emerging talents like Celebrini, Smith, and Askarov. Los Angeles struggled to sustain their momentum and has yet to achieve a three-game winning streak this season.

A pivotal moment occurred when Fabian Zetterlund scored with just over six minutes remaining in the second period, evening the score at 2-2 and igniting San Jose's run of six unanswered goals.

Anze Kopitar has been consistently performing, recording at least a point in 10 of his last 12 games, accumulating 16 points during that period.

The Kings are set to host Winnipeg on Wednesday, while the Sharks play Ottawa at home on the same day.
