Roope Hintz played a pivotal role with a goal and two assists, propelling the Dallas Stars, who lead the Western Conference, to a 3-1 win against the Vancouver Canucks on a Thursday evening.
Jake Oettinger contributed with 27 saves, aiding in Dallas clinching a playoff berth and continuing their winning streak to six games. Jamie Benn contributed with both a goal and an assist, Jason Robertson netted a goal into an empty net, and Joe Pavelski assisted twice.
J.T. Miller was the sole scorer for Vancouver, while Casey DeSmith stopped 31 shots. Late in the game, Benn's power-play goal pushed Dallas ahead 2-1, and Hintz initiated the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period. Miller equalized in the second period with his season’s 35th goal.
Next, the Stars are set for a game in Seattle on Saturday, and the Canucks are scheduled to play against Anaheim at home on Sunday.
