Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored in overtime, securing a 4-3 victory for the Edmonton Oilers over the Utah Hockey Club on Friday night.

Goals for the Oilers were also made by Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Vasily Podkolzin, with Calvin Pickard making 28 saves.

For Utah, Alexander Kerfoot, Logan Cooley, and Lawson Crouse were the goal scorers, and Karel Vejmelka also made 28 saves.

Edmonton was down 2-0 late in the first period but managed to score three consecutive goals to take the lead. Podkolzin, Draisaitl, and McDavid all scored in the second period, with the goals from Draisaitl and McDavid coming during power plays.

Crouse equalized for Utah in the third period, but Nugent-Hopkins clinched the win in overtime.

In terms of takeaways, Edmonton was not effective in creating scoring opportunities before the third period but was successful in finding optimal spots to attack in the second period. Utah faced difficulty stopping two power plays in the second period but achieved a crucial penalty kill in the last three minutes of regulation, pushing the game into overtime.
