Dylan Cozens found the back of the net twice, propelling the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on a Monday evening in Tampa, Florida. Alongside Cozens, Jordan Greenway and Zach Benson contributed to the scoring, rounding off the season for the Sabres with their 13th straight year missing the playoffs.

For the Lightning, Steven Stamkos hit the 40-goal plateau for the seventh occasion in his illustrious career, and Erik Cernak found the score sheet with a goal in the third period. This game was the final regular season match for the Lightning, who were set to play Toronto on Wednesday night.

The Sabres secured an initial lead of 1-0, with Cozens amplifying their advantage with a short-handed goal during the second period. Both Greenway and Benson made their mark on the scoreboard, contributing to the Sabres securing their third victory in four encounters against the Lightning.

In the goaltending department, Andrei Vasilevskiy for Tampa Bay stopped 31 shots, while Eric Comrie, in the net for Buffalo, also made 31 saves, marking his first victory since the 21st of October.
