The San Diego Padres overcame a 4-1 deficit to secure a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday night.
Initially, the Dodgers established an early lead, but the Padres gradually narrowed the gap. Eric Hosmer contributed with a run in the fourth inning, followed by Manny Machado who hit a two-run homer in the fifth to level the score.
In the sixth inning, the Padres pulled ahead when Wil Myers hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Jurickson Profar to score.
During the ninth inning, the Dodgers had an opportunity to even the score, but Chris Martin struck out Will Smith, concluding the game.
With this win, the Padres now lead 2-1 in the National League Division Series, which will resume on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
