Seattle Kraken Break Losing Streak with 4-2 Victory Over Carolina Hurricanes, Powered by Gourde and Schwartz

In a match held in Raleigh, North Carolina, Yanni Gourde and Jaden Schwartz played pivotal roles in the Seattle Kraken's 4-2 win against the Carolina Hurricanes, snapping Seattle's three-game losing streak.

Gourde's decisive wrist shot in the third period broke the deadlock. Additional contributions came from Brandon Tanev, Eeli Tolvanen, and Matty Beniers, who each added goals and assists. Goalie Joey Daccord made 15 saves for Seattle.

On the Carolina side, goals came from Eric Robinson and Martin Necas, with Necas also assisting to bring his tally to 39 points, the highest on the team. Despite the return of Pyotr Kochetkov in goal, the Hurricanes faced their third consecutive loss.

Seattle exerted dominance over the game by limiting Carolina to a season-low total of 16 shots. Kochetkov, making his return from a concussion, conceded a goal just 19 seconds into the game but steadied his performance thereafter. Since October, Carolina has been without goalie Frederik Andersen, who is sidelined with a knee injury.

A crucial moment unfolded in the third period when a Carolina goal was negated after a coach's challenge revealed goaltender interference, paving the way for Gourde to score 50 seconds later.

Now boasting a 7-1-1 record when scoring first this season, Seattle is set to visit New York to play against the Islanders, while Carolina will host the Colorado team.
