In an exciting turn of events, Tye Kartye delivered the decisive goal a little over six minutes before the end of the third period, leading to a 4-2 win for the Seattle Kraken against the Anaheim Ducks.
The victory for the Kraken also saw notable contributions from Jaden Schwartz, Andre Burakovsky, and Matty Beniers, who each netted a power-play goal, helping their team recover from a 2-1 disadvantage. This deficit came about after they conceded two short-handed goals at the beginning of the last period.
Kartye, who had found the net only once in his previous 25 games, managed to get the puck past Anaheim's defense from the blue line. Shortly afterward, with less than five minutes remaining, Beniers compounded the Ducks' troubles with yet another power-play goal, ensuring the Kraken's win.
Jared McCann contributed with three assists and Philipp Grubauer stopped 21 shots for the Kraken, marking their sixth consecutive win over the Ducks.
For Anaheim, goals were scored by Jakob Silfverberg and Isac Lundestrom. However, this effort was not enough to prevent their recent downturn, with the team losing nine out of their last eleven games.
The Ducks are set to play next in Edmonton on Saturday, whereas the Kraken will welcome Dallas the same night.
