Senators Defeat Lightning in a Thriller: Batherson Scores Twice in Ottawa's First Win

In Ottawa, Drake Batherson guided the Senators to a 5-4 win against Tampa Bay, ending the Lightning's series of victories.

Batherson netted two goals and provided an assist, while Josh Norris, Brady Tkachuk, and Noah Gregor also scored for the team. Ottawa's Anton Forsberg recorded 25 saves.

Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov obtained his seventh goal this season, with Nick Paul, Jake Guentzel, and Mitchell Chaffee also adding scores. Forsberg, however, blocked Kucherov's attempt during a crucial moment late in the match.

The Senators successfully defended a two-man disadvantage in the third period, maintaining their lead, while Gregor's short-handed goal pushed their lead to 5-3.

As for Tampa Bay, they failed to capitalize on three power-play opportunities after scoring in their first three games.

Separately, Linus Ullmark missed his third game in a row for Ottawa due to injury. Andrei Vasilevsky made 23 saves for Tampa Bay.

Looking ahead, the Lightning will compete against the Maple Leafs on Monday, and the Senators will travel to Utah on Tuesday.
