Adam Gaudette scored twice, including a decisive goal late in the game, and Linus Ullmark made 36 saves, helping the Ottawa Senators secure a 4-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night.
Gaudette's winning goal was scored with 4:12 left on the clock, as he successfully redirected a pass from Tim Stutzle past Mackenzie Blackwood, the Sharks' goaltender.
The Senators established a 2-0 advantage in the first period, with goals from Gaudette and Josh Norris, both assisted by Stutzle.
San Jose mounted a comeback effort in the third period, scoring through Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, but Stutzle and Gaudette combined again to reclaim the lead for Ottawa.
Ullmark delivered a strong performance in goal for the Senators, enhancing his record against San Jose to 6-0. Despite the Sharks taking 39 shots compared to Ottawa's 11, they couldn't score enough to win.
Gaudette has now scored 11 goals from 31 shots this season, while Stutzle leads the league in points among players under 23, with a total of 28 points.
Looking ahead, the Sharks are set to host the Kraken on Friday, and the Senators will face the Kings on Saturday.
