In New York, Sergei Bobrovsky celebrated his career milestone of 400 wins with an impressive 24 saves, as the Florida Panthers secured a 3-1 triumph over the New York Rangers.
Early in the game, Anton Lundell and Carter Verhaeghe gave Florida a quick lead by scoring within the first 2 minutes and 42 seconds. Although Alexis Lafreniere managed to narrow the gap for the Rangers, Sam Bennett quickly restored the Panthers' two-goal cushion.
Bobrovsky played a pivotal role in maintaining the lead, executing crucial saves during a breakaway by Jonny Brodzinski and thwarting other significant scoring opportunities.
Achieving this victory allowed Bobrovsky to become the 14th goaltender in NHL history to amass 400 wins, achieving this milestone faster than anyone before him.
While Rangers forward Artemi Panarin did not score, the Panthers boosted their road record to 3-2-0 following their commendable performance last season.
Looking ahead, the Rangers are set to play the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, whereas the Panthers will remain in New York for their matchup against the Islanders.
