Shane Wright netted his premiere two NHL goals and provided an assist, propelling the Seattle Kraken to a 3-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks.
Selected fourth in the 2022 draft, Wright has now accumulated three goals over three games following his promotion from the AHL. Coach Dave Hakstol of the Kraken lauded Wright for his assertiveness and prowess in defense.
Matty Beniers, last year's Calder Trophy recipient, also found the back of the net for Seattle, marking his 100th career point. Beniers had initially believed he achieved this milestone in a previous game against Los Angeles, but a scoring revision was later made.
Adding to Seattle's tally, Oliver Bjorkstrand contributed with two assists, whereas Philipp Grubauer denied 16 shots. For Anaheim, Leo Carlsson notched an impressive goal, joining the ranks of 15 rookies this season to score at least 10 goals.
The streak of consecutive games played by Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson, which stood at 343, was paused due to his wife's pregnancy. Next, the Kraken are set to welcome the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday, and the Ducks will challenge the St. Louis Blues come Sunday.
