Seattle Kraken News & Updates

Now that the Kraken are out of the race for the playoffs, they are putting their energy into nurturing their young talent. Among these, Shane Wright stands out, having been promoted from the AHL. He has quickly made his mark by netting his fourth goal in as many games.

In a match against the Arizona Coyotes, Wright was the first to put the Kraken on the scoreboard, with an assist from Jordan Eberle. The team saw additional goals from André Burakovsky, Justin Schultz, Brandon Tanev, and Will Borgen, securing a 5-0 win. Goalie Philipp Grubauer contributed greatly, stopping 39 shots for his second clean sheet of the campaign.

Wright has seamlessly carried over his scoring prowess from the AHL, where he scored 20 times in 53 appearances. Despite his young age of 20, Wright has been receiving accolades for his growth from coach Dave Hakstol.

Conversely, Arizona found it challenging to penetrate the Kraken's defense and experienced their second defeat without scoring a goal this season. The Coyotes’ coach, André Tourigny, gave props to the Kraken's defensive work and Grubauer's goalkeeping.

Looking ahead, the Coyotes have a game scheduled with Vancouver on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Kraken are gearing up for their season’s last home game, which will be against San Jose on Thursday.
