The San Jose Sharks, seeking to bolster their offensive lineup with experienced players, have signed Tyler Toffoli on a four-year deal worth $24 million.
Toffoli, who is 32 years old, has a history of playing for various teams such as the Devils and Jets. In the previous season with the Jets, he notched 33 goals and accumulated 55 points.
In addition, the Sharks have brought on Alex Wennberg with a two-year contract valued at $10 million.
Wennberg is expected to add defensive strength and depth to the team. He was instrumental in the Rangers' journey to the Eastern Conference final.
Despite his key role, Wennberg departed from the Rangers due to demanding a higher salary. In San Jose, he is likely to assume a similar position.
The acquisitions of Toffoli and Wennberg are part of the Sharks’ strategy to enhance their veteran presence and expand their lineup choices.
Should Macklin Celebrini, their top draft pick, be added to the roster this season, their goal-scoring ability could see a significant boost.
