Carolina Hurricanes News & Updates

Spencer Martin achieved his first career shutout by making 24 saves, leading the Carolina team to a 4-0 win against Ottawa. This marked Martin's second start of the season and his debut appearance at home.

Scoring for the team were Jordan Martinook, Sebastian Aho, Jackson Blake, and William Carrier, with Shayne Gostisbehere, Jordan Staal, and Martin Necas providing the assists. It was the first time this season that Ottawa failed to score, with their goalie, Anton Forsberg, also having made 24 saves.

Ottawa's loss ended their three consecutive games with points, partly due to their struggles in special teams performance. Carolina continued their strong run with an undefeated streak in consecutive games this season, securing their sixth straight home victory after a road trip to the Western Conference.

The Hurricanes scored twice within 85 seconds on power plays, a significant turning point in the match. Martin became the third Carolina goaltender to earn a win this season.

Carolina's next game will be at home against St. Louis, while Ottawa is set to start a four-game series at home against Edmonton.
