Dallas Stars News & Updates

In a highly contested match against the Arizona Coyotes, the Dallas Stars were propelled to a 5-2 victory thanks to outstanding performances by Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, and Logan Stankoven.

This win allowed the Stars to continue their dominance at home over the Coyotes, marking a remarkable 19-game streak where they've managed to secure points. Their last defeat at home to the team, then known as the Phoenix Coyotes, dates back to 2012.

Contributions also came from Jason Robertson, who netted a goal and set up another, along with Craig Smith who scored as well. Jake Oettinger played a vital role in goal, stopping 23 shots in the process.

With this victory, the Stars now find themselves in a tie with Winnipeg and Colorado, all vying for the leading spot in the Central Division with 93 points each. This sets up an exciting showdown as the first round of the playoffs approaches.

Despite efforts from Clayton Keller and John Leonard to spearhead Arizona's attack, they couldn't overturn the deficit. Connor Ingram, in goal for the Coyotes, faced a challenging night with 28 shots coming his way.

Key moments included Stankoven leveling the scoreline during a session with a delayed penalty in the second period, with Benn and Seguin subsequently taking the lead for the Stars.

With additional goals in the third period from Robertson and Smith, and Keller initially putting Arizona ahead in the first period, Leonard managed to score his first NHL goal, although it wasn't enough to secure a win for his team.

Boston currently boasts the longest ongoing home points streak against a single opponent in the league, with 20 games.

The Stars are set to go head-to-head with the Coyotes once again on Sunday, this time in Arizona.
