Florida Panthers News & Updates

In Sunrise, Florida, Anthony Stolarz contributed to setting up the opening goal for the Panthers, notching his second assist of the season, as the team secured a 2-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

Throughout the game, Stolarz blocked all 25 shots aimed at him, expressing a preference for scoring goals but emphasizing the paramount importance of securing shutouts. This achievement marked Florida's third shutout of the season, replicating a feat last achieved against Montreal in the 2017-18 season.

This victory pushed the Panthers' points tally to 104, narrowing the gap with the Boston Bruins at the top of the Atlantic Division. On the flip side, the Senators faced the prospect of missing the postseason for the seventh year in a row, having been defeated in all their season encounters with the Panthers.

Ottawa's Joonas Korpisalo managed to save 28 shots. This game was notable as it recorded the fourth instance of a Florida goaltender assisting on a goal during a shutout. The goals by Lundell and Cousins propelled Florida to victory, with Lundell's goal coming off a power play with an assist from Stolarz.

NEXT UP: The Senators are set to play against Tampa Bay this Thursday, the same day the Panthers will be hosting Columbus.
