Chicago Blackhawks News & Updates

The Chicago Blackhawks have brought in experienced defenseman TJ Brodie on a two-year deal worth $7.5 million.

This move occurred after the Blackhawks had already signed several other free agents such as Tyler Bertuzzi, Teuvo Teravainen, Pat Maroon, Laurent Brossoit, and Alec Martinez.

At 33, Brodie previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, earning $5 million annually. Although his performance has seen some decline, he is still considered a dependable defensive player.

In the last season, Brodie recorded one goal and 26 points, maintaining a plus-17 rating. He regularly plays over 20 minutes per game and holds a career record of 11 goals set in the 2014-15 season with the Calgary Flames.
