Toffoli Scores Twice in Jets' 6-0 Victory Over Ducks, Brossoit Achieves Shutout

In Winnipeg, Tyler Toffoli netted two goals and Laurent Brossoit blocked 21 attempts, marking his second season shutout, leading the Jets to a resounding 6-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

Dylan DeMelo hit the back of the net for the first time in 63 matches and contributed an assist, alongside Kyle Connor, Nate Schmidt, and Mason Appleton who also scored. Assists were plentiful with Josh Morrissey providing three and Nikolaj Ehlers adding two.

This clean sheet marked Brossoit's fifth consecutive win as the starting goalkeeper, elevating his season tally to 12 wins, 4 losses, and 2 draws. Remarkably, he has not conceded a goal in over 141 minutes of play.

John Gibson for Anaheim managed to stop 32 shots, but it wasn't enough to prevent the team's fifth consecutive loss. With 39 points, Winnipeg sits atop the Central Division, closely trailed by Dallas and Colorado, both at 38 points.

The Jets are gearing up for a five-game away stint starting with Columbus on Sunday, while the Ducks aim to conclude their four-game road journey against St. Louis.

Winnipeg's coach, Rick Bowness, disclosed that Gabe Vilardi is dealing with an enlarged spleen, leaving his return to the ice uncertain. Vilardi has been absent for the last eight games and will not partake in the upcoming away games.
