In an exciting matchup in Las Vegas, the Vegas Golden Knights secured a 4-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche thanks to Tomas Hertl's decisive power-play goal just 83 seconds into overtime.
Having been at a 3-0 disadvantage after the initial two periods, the Knights mounted an impressive comeback. William Karlsson found the back of the net twice, and Ivan Barbashev also scored, paving the way to overtime. Goalie Adin Hill played a pivotal role in the win, stopping 21 shots, especially crucial ones in the final period.
On the Avalanche side, Cale Makar stood out with a goal and an assist, alongside Ross Colton and Mikko Rantanen who each scored as well. In the net, Alexandar Georgiev defended with 26 saves.
The Knights were successful in utilizing their power play, scoring twice, a feat they've accomplished in four out of their last six games.

Both Karlsson and Brayden McNabb had extra reason to celebrate, as each marked their 500th career game.
Looking ahead, the Avalanche are set to play Edmonton in what will be their season's concluding match on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights will welcome Chicago on Tuesday.
