New York Rangers News & Updates

Although there were worries, New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba will not receive any further penalties for his hit on Montreal Canadiens defenseman Justin Barron.

During the third period, Trouba delivered a strong check that knocked Barron to the ice. The Canadiens objected, thinking it was a hit to the head, but the NHL concluded it was a legal full-body check with Barron's chest as the primary contact point.

Trouba, recognized for his aggressive playing style, has faced two suspensions and four fines throughout his career. Nevertheless, the Department of Player Safety decided there was no infraction in this case, as the hit complied with the standards for a legal check outlined in Rule 48.1.
