Toronto Maple Leafs News & Updates

The uncertainty looms over Toronto's lineup for Game 5 as Auston Matthews struggles with an illness that has impacted his play throughout the series. Despite scoring one goal and adding two assists over four games, Matthews was sidelined during the third period of Game 4 because of his health. His participation in the upcoming game will be determined closer to game time.

In preparation for Matthews' potential absence, Toronto has adjusted their practice lines, placing Max Domi in the role of first-line center. Coach Sheldon Keefe has commended Domi for his adaptability and chemistry with various teammates.

Additionally, Coach Keefe has kept the decision on who will be the starting goalie for Game 5 under wraps, pointing out the team’s necessity to enhance its goaltending and special teams efforts.

The Boston team is also faced with roster decisions, as Brad Marchand and Danton Heinen were absent from Monday's practice for maintenance reasons. The Bruins might look towards Justin Brazeau and Derek Forbort, who are currently sidelined with injuries, as potential players to step in for Game 5.
