Daniel Sprong is now part of the Vancouver Canucks, having signed a one-year deal with the team.
Last season, while playing for the Detroit Red Wings, he scored 18 goals and accumulated 43 points over 76 games under a similar one-year contract.
His impressive performance did not go unnoticed by the Canucks, who expect him to add depth to their forward lineup.
Although several teams showed interest in him, Sprong remained a free agent for three weeks before committing to the Canucks.
Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Sprong will now be joining his sixth NHL team at the age of 27.
