The Vancouver Canucks have extended forward Dakota Joshua's contract for four years after clearing salary cap space through a trade on Wednesday.
Joshua's new deal is valued at $3.25 million per year. This follows a strong season where he tallied 18 goals and 32 points across 63 games, helping the Canucks secure a spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
In addition to Joshua's extension, the Canucks have re-signed Teddy Blueger to a two-year contract and traded Sam Lafferty and Ilya Mikheyev to the Chicago Blackhawks.
These transactions have left the Canucks with $15.040 million in available cap space.
The team's immediate priority now is managing the upcoming unrestricted free agency of Elias Lindholm, Tyler Myers, and Nikita Zadorov.
Lindholm, who joined the Canucks from the Calgary Flames, excelled during the playoffs, netting five goals and earning 10 points in 13 games.
Myers and Zadorov also delivered strong postseason performances, with Zadorov recording four goals and eight points in 13 games.
