Vegas Golden Knights News & Updates

The Vegas Golden Knights have successfully negotiated a new eight-year contract for Noah Hanifin, with an annual value of $7.35 million.

Before reaching free agency, Hanifin joined the Golden Knights through a multi-team transaction that included the Calgary Flames, occurring shortly before the trade deadline.

The team has solidified its roster's foundation for the coming years by having nine players, among them Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and William Karlsson, under contracts extending beyond two years.

Following his move to the Golden Knights, Hanifin has demonstrated remarkable performance by netting two goals and accumulating nine points across 16 matches, marking his most successful season to date.

This trade is among several strategic moves made by the Golden Knights to strengthen their lineup before the trade deadline, which also saw the inclusion of players like Anthony Mantha and Tomas Hertl.

The defensive synergy between Hanifin and Alex Pietrangelo has been notable, achieving a strong defensive record by allowing just five goals over seven matches until Pietrangelo was sidelined due to illness.

Currently, the Golden Knights are in the race for a playoff spot, holding the last wild-card position in the Western Conference and leading the St. Louis Blues by three points, while also having a game in hand.
