Philadelphia Flyers News & Updates

In Philadelphia, Jack Eichel scored in the shootout, helping the Vegas Golden Knights secure a 5-4 victory after a comeback against the Philadelphia Flyers. Ilya Samsonov stopped all three shootout attempts and made 32 saves during regular play.

For Vegas, goals came from Eichel, Ivan Barbashev, Pavel Dorofeyev, and Tanner Pearson, marking their third consecutive win. On the other side, Philadelphia saw Emil Andrae score his first NHL goal, with Matvei Michkov adding his league-leading eighth goal. Morgan Frost and Sean Couturier also added goals for the Flyers, who have lost three of their recent four games.

Noah Hanifin had challenges in this game for Vegas as he allowed all four of the Flyers' goals. In contrast, Morgan Frost enjoyed his second multipoint performance this season, also assisting on Michkov's goal.

There was a pivotal moment when Frost missed a wide-open net towards the end of the third period, which allowed Vegas to level the score. They successfully navigated a penalty kill afterwards and came out on top in the shootout.

A notable statistic from the game was that Samsonov conceded four goals on his initial 14 shots but then turned away the next 25 shots, including a key glove save against Travis Sanheim during overtime.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will travel to Colorado for a game on Wednesday, while the Flyers are set to face Nashville on their own away trip.
