Edmonton Oilers News & Updates

During the second game of the Stanley Cup Final, Edmonton's Warren Foegele was ejected for injuring Florida's Eetu Luostarinen with a knee-on-knee collision. The officials handed Foegele a five-minute penalty and a game misconduct, with potential further discipline still uncertain.

The collision caused a commotion on the ice, resulting in Luostarinen leaving the game for medical attention. He later returned to play despite previously missing the first game due to a broken leg. The Oilers managed to score their first goal during a 4-on-4 play after Florida's Oliver Ekman-Larsson received a penalty for tripping.

Foegele, who had been scratched during the Western Conference Finals, made a significant impact upon returning in Game 2, despite missing the opening game. Ultimately, the Panthers secured a 4-1 victory, establishing a 2-0 series lead.
