The Florida Panthers are leading the charge to secure their first Stanley Cup, garnering substantial financial backing. Although ticket sales are nearly balanced with the Edmonton Oilers, the Panthers dominate in monetary support. According to ESPN BET, 55% of tickets are on the Oilers, whereas FanDuel reports 58% on the Panthers, with other sportsbooks falling in between. However, the Panthers have a distinct financial edge, with ESPN BET showing 50% and FanDuel showing 90% in favor of the Panthers. This financial backing has influenced the odds, shifting from -125 to -135 for the Panthers and from +105 to +115 for the Oilers.
The series prop markets also display the support for the Panthers, with the most favored outcome being a Panthers victory in six games (+500). Despite the overall lack of support for the Oilers, Connor McDavid remains the frontrunner (+200) for the Conn Smythe Trophy, though it is uncommon for a player from the losing team to win the award.
Edmonton's star players, including Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, and Evan Bouchard, attracted attention prior to the season. Matthew Rasp of BetMGM has indicated a preference for the Panthers to win in Game 7.
