Kirill Kaprizov contributed two goals and an assist, while Filip Gustavsson made 28 saves, leading the Minnesota Wild to a 5-3 triumph against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Joel Eriksson Ek, Matt Boldy, and Brock Faber also found the net for the Wild, marking their sixth win in the last seven games.
The Lightning saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with goals from Brayden Point, Jake Guentzel, and Nick Paul. Victor Hedman provided two assists, and Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 17 shots.
In the third period, Kaprizov netted the decisive goal after capitalizing on a rebound from Marco Rossi’s attempt. Boldy increased the advantage with a goal into an empty net, and Kaprizov added another empty-net goal to confirm the victory.
In an effort to turn the game around, the Lightning removed Vasilevskiy from the net with over three minutes left, but Boldy quickly scored, putting the game beyond their reach.
The Wild celebrated their first home game victory since October 12th and now hold a 5-1-1 record in away games this season.
Although outshot 30-22, the Wild managed to block 18 shots to ensure their win.
The Lightning will visit Winnipeg on Sunday, while the Wild are set to face Toronto at home.
