Winnipeg Jets News & Updates

At Madison Square Garden, the Winnipeg Jets achieved a historic win by defeating the New York Rangers 6-3. This victory marks the first instance of a team securing 15 wins in their first 16 games of an NHL season.

Mark Scheifele, who contributed two goals in the game, expressed his excitement over the win, acknowledging the strong start but stressing the team's determination not to become complacent.

The Jets have had an impressive start, topping the NHL charts in both goals scored and allowed per game. They have scored five or more goals in half of their games and achieved a record-breaking streak of seven consecutive road wins.

Contributing to the victory, Kyle Connor also scored two goals, while Gabriel Vilardi and Vladislav Namestnikov each added a goal. Connor Hellebuyck made 33 saves to secure the win.

The Jets managed to take advantage of the Rangers' offensive strategy through effective forechecking, maintaining control of the puck, and converting their opportunities into goals.

Rangers coach Peter Laviolette admitted that the Jets had executed more effectively. Scheifele scored two goals, with Vilardi and Connor scoring in the first and second periods, respectively.

Namestnikov added another goal in the third period, and Connor sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

Kyle Connor highlighted the diverse contributions to their offensive success and stressed the importance of staying focused as the season progresses, noting that no one on the team is satisfied yet.

Looking ahead, the Jets are set to play away games against the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers.

Despite their historic beginning to the season, Connor underscored that the team is concentrating on continual improvement.
