Winnipeg Jets Dominate Chicago Blackhawks in Debut Match with Interim Coach Anders Sorensen

Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor were instrumental in leading the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. This game marked the debut for interim coach Anders Sorensen.

Mason Appleton contributed with both a goal and an assist. Nino Niederreiter and Gabriel Vilardi also scored for the Jets, ending their four-game losing streak.

For the Blackhawks, Alex Vlasic and Alec Martinez found the back of the net. Despite their efforts, they extended their losing streak to five games.

In the third period, Scheifele scored to break the tie, with an assist from Connor. Appleton later sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

During the final period, the Jets dominated in both shots and puck possession against the Blackhawks.

Scheifele’s decisive goal came from a rebound after winning a face-off against Jason Dickinson.

Since the 1995-96 season, Blackhawks coaches, whether interim or permanent, have held a 6-7-1 record in their first game at the helm.

Looking ahead, the Jets will play host to Columbus on Sunday, while the Blackhawks are set to face the Rangers in New York on Monday.
