Jeff Skinner of the Buffalo Sabres achieved a hat trick, leading his team to a 6-2 win after quickly bouncing back from an early goal by Seattle. Skinner's initial goal was significant in leading to the replacement of Seattle's goalie, Joey Daccord, within the first six minutes. The Sabres managed to net three goals in the opening period. Buffalo's Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 32 shots, bringing the team within four points of a playoff position. On the other hand, Seattle, now suffering its fifth consecutive defeat and standing 11 points away from a playoff spot, is set to face Vegas on Thursday.
