The match kicked off with a fierce fight between all 10 players on the ice, leading to eight players being ejected and both teams having to manage with thinner lineups. Artemi Panarin hit the back of the net for his 45th goal of the season and also set up Kreider’s game-winning goal, pushing his season points tally to 110.
