Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin spearheaded the New York Rangers' 5-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens. Zibanejad netted two goals and Panarin added a goal alongside three assists. Despite an early goal from Cole Caulfield of Montreal, the Rangers dominated the third period. Chris Kreider untied the game, followed by Panarin increasing the lead. Although Alex Newhook narrowed the gap to a single goal, Zibanejad and Alexis Lafreniere ultimately secured the victory for New York.
