Game Recap

Charlie Lindgren conceded three goals during overtime, among them the decisive one scored by Jake Sanderson, leading to a 3-2 defeat for the Washington Capitals against the Ottawa Senators. Goals by Max Pacioretty and Aliaksei Protas weren't enough, as the Capitals' aspirations for the playoffs took a hit following their sixth straight loss. They now find themselves one point behind Detroit for the Eastern Conference's second wild-card position and two points back of the New York Islanders, who are third in the Metropolitan Division. Additionally, defenseman Rasmus Sandin will be out for a period due to an upper-body injury. Read the full game analysis.
