Miles Wood scored in overtime to secure a 4-3 win for the Colorado Avalanche against the Dallas Stars in the first game of their Western Conference playoff series. The Avalanche made a remarkable comeback from a 3-0 deficit in the opening period by netting three goals in the second, two of which were during power play opportunities. Wood clinched the victory with a goal assisted by Andrew Cogliano 11 minutes and 3 seconds into the overtime period. Cale Makar contributed significantly with a goal and two assists, and Valerie Nichushkin also made his mark with a goal and an assist for the Avalanche. In goal, Alexander Georgiev saved 19 shots for Colorado, while Jake Oettinger of Dallas stopped 22 shots. The second game of the series is set for Thursday night in Dallas.
