Game Recap

In a nail-biting overtime finish, Sidney Crosby netted a power-play goal, leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 6-5 triumph over the Buffalo Sabres. Evgeni Malkin achieved a major milestone by scoring his 500th career goal, joining an elite group as the 48th player to reach this mark. Crosby also hit a milestone, amassing 1,600 career points. Although the Sabres came close to winning back-to-back games for the first time this season, they lost their lead. Meanwhile, the Penguins celebrated their second consecutive win. Bryan Rust scored with just 46 seconds left in regulation to push the game into overtime. After Tristan Jarry was replaced in the first period, Joel Blomqvist stepped in and made 26 saves. J.J. Peterka found the net twice for the Sabres, who will continue their road trip to Columbus on Thursday. The Penguins will face Carolina at home on Friday before embarking on a four-game road trip.
