Mikko Rantanen achieved his ninth career hat trick, netting two of his goals in the third period to propel the Avalanche to a 4-2 win against the Kings. Artturi Lehkonen contributed a goal for Colorado, while Los Angeles goalkeepers Darcy Kuemper and David Rittich collectively made 21 saves. Adrian Kempe scored both goals for the Kings, who went without a shot on goal during the second period.
