San Jose Sharks History & Overview

Located in San Jose, California, the San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team that competes in the National Hockey League (NHL), specifically within the Pacific Division. This team emerged in 1991, marking the NHL's expansion into California and kicked off their gameplay in the 1991–92 season. Their home matches are hosted at the SAP Center.

Throughout their history, the Sharks secured the Presidents' Trophy during the 2008–09 season and have entered the playoffs 15 times across 29 seasons. Their journey culminated in reaching the Stanley Cup Finals in 2016. Over the years, the team has been home to remarkable players like Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau, Jonathan Cheechoo, Evgeni Nabokov, and Brent Burns.
